Gothenburg in a Day
If you only have one day, focus on the compact city centre and finish at Liseberg. This route starts in the historic centre, passes the fish hall on the way into cosy Haga, and ends at the amusement park. All times are approximate.
Morning: Centre and Waterfront
Start at Domkyrka, then continue to Gothenburg's oldest building, Kronhuset, with its craft courtyard, and on to Feskekôrka for fresh seafood.
Afternoon and Evening
Wander the cobbled streets of Haga with a fika stop, climb up to the Skansen Kronan fortress for the view, and round the day off at Liseberg.
Frequently asked questions
Is one day enough for Gothenburg?+
For a first taste of the city centre, yes. But for Liseberg, Universeum, the museums and a trip out to the archipelago, plan on two to three days instead.
What's the best way to get around?+
The city centre is easy to explore on foot, and for longer stretches you take the tram. A day ticket or the Gothenburg City Card is worth it.
